Frankie Kroon is an artist who was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She attended The School of Art, Music and Ballet, The Johannesburg College of Art, The London College of Printing and Ruth Prowse School of Art where she obtained a Diploma in Jewellery Design. She is also a Tai Chi teacher.

Trading as Frankenstone she describes herself as an iconoclastic jeweller and a

post-industrial hunter-gatherer who aims to cater for the time/space she is living in.

She describes this as; living in a post-colonial society, swamped by the mass-production of the East, droughts, pandemics, beaches, blackouts and inequality.

Frankie uses an eclectic range of materials for her designs, old plastic findings from the 1950’s and 60’s (soon to be antiques), recycled plexiglass and plastics, silver and semi-precious stones. Trading as “Frankenstone” the designs aim to provide that little spark to your day and ultimately to your life. Custom commissions are available.
